Thanks for your post.

Years ago, the ramp was open to jetskis but too many of the jetski users were creating problems with noise, etc. Since most of the people who use the park and the boat ramp are primarily interested in fishing, birdwatching, sightseeing, and other activities that are best enjoyed in a more quiet and peaceful environment, it was decided to prohibit jetskis on the boat ramp.

The park primarily caters to senior citizens and jetskis were inconsistent with their enjoyment of the park, the boat ramp, and the surrounding area.

Thanks for the information, I remember  a lot Of jetskis on the river, but, most of them  from Mexico. I am 57 y.o. Physician not causing problems for anybody. I was at Your park about 3 weeks ago and was my surprise to see jetskis launched at your ramp, reason why I posted this message. I am asking to reconsider Your decition and let us, that do not give any problems, to use your ramp. Thank You. Pedro Arrazola MD.

Hi Pedro,

It is possible that we might reconsider this. I wonder if there are any restrictions would be acceptable to residents and jet ski users so that a compromise might be reached.

One such compromise might be to issue a yearly/monthly pass. The pass would include an agreement to abide by speed limits and noise limits within a certain area. If there are complaints, then the park would revoke the user's pass.

Any other ideas?

I think there are a lot of residents that feel very strongly about jet skis because of bad experiences in the past, so any change in the jet ski policy would need to address these concerns.

This sounds Good !, another will be not to let Riders with family members  that are not riding. In other words, no "picnics" allowed. last year I saw a person with One Jetski and about 8 family members, with food , music..etc. Good news for me.

On the banks of the Rio Grande river, Chimney Park is an age qualified (55+) Senior Citizen community in Mission, Texas. It is a lush oasis with palm trees and abundant natural vegetation that is very popular among winter Texans and retirees looking for both a beautiful natural setting and an active senior community. We are right on the water and are one of the few South Texas RV Parks With a Boat Ramp so you can enjoy fishing, boating, and sight seeing on the Rio Grande.
