ButterfliesThe North American Butterfly Association, a nonprofit organization, supports the center from the donations they receive. They do their very best to make everyone feel at home with their visit to the center. The butterfly center is located on 100 acres and gives the butterflies and wildlife lots of space to live as nature intended it to be. You will enjoy seeing all of these animals and plants in their natural environment. The center is open from 8 a.m until 5 p.m. September thru March and from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. April thru August. One thing you won’t be able to take back with you is live butterflies. Besides, you would have too many to choose from because there are over 150 species that can be spotted in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas alone. Regardless of which species of butterfly you like best, chances are good you will see them in the National Butterfly Center.
